Residential
Door systems across Toronto
We work throughout Toronto — Downtown core, Liberty Village, Leaside, The Junction and the blocks around them. The buildings here are mostly office towers, retail and hospitality, and each puts different demands on a door: traffic volume, insurance and fire requirements, and how much downtime an opening can afford. Toronto’s 2,794,356 residents keep those buildings busy.
We have completed 2046 door jobs in Toronto since 2020 — commercial doors, hollow metal and steel doors, automatic doors and commercial glass and aluminum doors — including work on Yonge Street, Bloor Street West, Queen Street West and Richmond Street East.

Broken doors in Toronto: we dispatch 24/7.
Toronto is roughly a 30-minute run from our Mississauga shop — less if a technician is already in the area — so a truck is usually on site the same day.
Emergency board-up, security and make-safe first — permanent repair scheduled after.
Common questions about doors
Does maintenance cover the annual fire door inspection?
It can, and it is usually the sensible way to buy it, but they are different jobs. The fire-code inspection of rated openings is a specified annual procedure with its own documentation, and it is a compliance obligation rather than a maintenance choice. Folding it into the same attendance saves a separate visit, and the same is true of the annual safety inspection on automatic entrances — both are covered in the compliance section above.
What are the disadvantages of a steel door?
Weight, thermal bridging, and the fact that dents stay. A 16-gauge leaf is heavy enough to need a correctly sized closer and hinges that actually get maintained, steel conducts cold unless the assembly is thermally broken, and a door hit by a pallet truck keeps the dent until the section is cut out and re-welded. It is also plainer than wood or glass, which is why it is specified for back-of-house rather than for a lobby. Against that: it holds its shape, it can carry a fire label, and every part of it can be repaired in place — which is why it remains the default commercial opening in Ontario.
What is a universal washroom?
A single enclosed washroom, intended for use by one person at a time — including a person who needs an attendant, and where the attendant may be of a different gender. That is the distinction from an "accessible stall" inside a larger washroom: the universal washroom is its own room, with its own lockable door, and it serves people that a row of stalls cannot. In Ontario it appears in the Building Code's barrier-free section, and it is required in most new and substantially renovated buildings of any size.
How much do bi-folding doors cost?
There is no shelf price — these are made to the opening. What sets the number is the number of leaves, the glazing, whether the framing is thermally broken, the threshold detail, the finish, and whether the structure above the opening can carry a top-hung assembly without work. Automating it adds materially. We quote from a site measure rather than a drawing, because a folding wall is only as square as the opening it goes into.
What is a rolling security grille?
A closure built from aluminum links or rods with deliberate gaps between them, running in a guide each side of the opening and coiling onto a barrel above it. Mechanically it works exactly like a slat shutter; the difference is that you can see straight through it. That is the whole point — the unit is secured and the display behind it stays lit and visible, which is what a shopping centre wants along its concourse after hours.
What is the difference between laminated and moulded dock bumpers?
A laminated bumper is built from stacked pads cut from rubber tire carcass, threaded onto a steel rod between angle plates. It is inexpensive, easy to replace and the most common type on Ontario docks. A moulded bumper is a single piece of moulded rubber, more uniform and generally longer-lived under heavy or angled impact but costlier. A steel-faced bumper adds a steel plate, sometimes on rollers, for very high-cycle docks or where trailers ride up and down the face as they are loaded.
What people in Toronto also look for
Four decades of doors for names Ontario knows — Canada’s Wonderland, Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire, the LCBO, Metrolinx, Marriott & Hilton hotels, the University of Toronto — plus thousands of businesses across the GTA. Dependable people, quality products, since 1979.
