Canuck Door Systems has been installing, glazing and repairing doors from the same Mississauga shop since 1979 — front entrance to shipping dock, for businesses and homeowners across Toronto, the GTA and Southern Ontario. From one garage-door workshop to every opening in a building
Canuck Door Systems started in 1979 installing overhead garage doors in Toronto, and grew into a contractor that handles every opening in a building — storefronts and glazing, hollow metal, overhead and rolling steel, automatic entrances, operable walls, traffic doors and loading docks. On most buildings, one contractor now covers the lot: one call for every opening, front to back.
The company was founded by Bruce N.W. Scott, and the mandate he set is still the one the shop works to. It is a short sentence, and it puts people before product on purpose — a door is only as good as the crew who hangs it and the technician who comes back when it fails.
“To serve the community, with quality products and dependable people.”
Working for general contractors
About 60% of Canuck's work comes through general contractors, and the rest from owners, property managers and businesses directly. On a GC job we carry the door and dock package on someone else's build, from the shop drawings through to the hardware. Many established contractors have made Canuck their door subcontractor on commercial projects — among them:
The shop on Bonhill Road — the office entrance at unit 14, and the service fleet parked outside it.
Since 1979 we have hung, glazed and serviced doors for names Ontario knows — Canada’s Wonderland, Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire, the LCBO, Metrolinx, Marriott & Hilton hotels, the University of Toronto — plus thousands of businesses across the GTA. Dependable people, quality products, since 1979.

Where we work
Every truck leaves from the one shop in Mississauga — there are no franchised territories, so nowhere on this page gets handed to somebody else. The core GTA is a short drive, which is why emergency calls there are quick. Beyond it we work right across Southern Ontario: Hamilton, Stoney Creek, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls to the south-west; Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Brantford to the west; Bolton, Orangeville and Halton Hills north of Peel; Aurora, Newmarket, Stouffville and East Gwillimbury through York Region; Bradford, Innisfil, Barrie and Orillia up into Simcoe County; and east through Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa and Uxbridge in Durham. Each of those towns has its own pages, with the jobs we have done nearby.
Distance changes what is sensible, not what is possible. A planned installation, a maintenance visit or a measure travels anywhere in the belt without difficulty; a night-time emergency at its far edge is a long drive, and we say so on the phone rather than leave you waiting up for a truck. Working at Canuck
We hire door and dock technicians, installers and glaziers, and we train on the systems we carry. Open positions are listed here as they come up — and if nothing is listed, send a resume anyway, because service work does not wait for a posting.

Questions about the company
How long has Canuck Door Systems been in business?
Since 1979. The company was founded by Bruce N.W. Scott as a Toronto installer of overhead garage doors and now works on every kind of opening in a building, from the shop and office in Mississauga.
Are you insured, and can you send certificates?
Yes. We carry $5,000,000 in commercial general liability insurance and a WSIB clearance certificate, and both can be issued to your project or property before work starts — ask when you book.
Do you only work on the brands you sell?
No. We are an official dealer for a number of lines, which is what lets us specify and supply parts for them years later, but we repair systems we did not install and did not sell.
Do you work outside Toronto and the GTA?
Yes. The core GTA is where most of our calls are, but the same crews work across Southern Ontario — Hamilton and Niagara, Kitchener–Waterloo, Guelph and Brantford, Barrie and Orillia, and east through Durham to Oshawa and Uxbridge. Everything is dispatched from the Mississauga shop, and on a call-out outside the core we tell you the travel time and the travel charge before a truck leaves.
Do you do new construction as well as service work?
Both, roughly half and half. General contractors bring us in to specify and install openings on new builds and renovations, and facility and property managers keep us on for breakdowns and scheduled service afterwards.
What warranty do you give?
One year on the products we supply and three months on our installation labour.
How big is the team?
About 12 people in the office and about 20 on the road, all dispatched from the shop in Mississauga.
