Commercial Doors across Niagara Falls
We work throughout Niagara Falls — Stanley Avenue Business Park, Montrose Industrial Business Park, Drummond Industrial Area, Lundy's Lane Commercial Corridor and the blocks around them. The buildings here are mostly accommodation and food services, wholesale and retail trade and advanced and light manufacturing, and each puts different demands on a door: traffic volume, insurance and fire requirements, and how much downtime an opening can afford. Niagara Falls’s 94,415 residents keep those buildings busy.

Broken commercial doors in Niagara Falls: we dispatch 24/7.
Niagara Falls is roughly a 90-minute run from our Mississauga shop — less if a technician is already in the area. Planned work, measures and maintenance travel there without difficulty; on a middle-of-the-night emergency we will tell you the drive time on the phone, and what to do to make the opening safe until we arrive.
Emergency board-up, security and make-safe first — permanent repair scheduled after.
Commercial door systems we install and repair in Niagara Falls
A commercial building runs on more kinds of door than most people ever count — a glass entrance out front, hollow metal on the exits, an overhead door on shipping, an operator on the accessible route. Canuck Door Systems supplies, installs and repairs all of them with one crew and one phone number, so "commercial doors" here means the whole building, not one product.
Hollow metal vs glass-aluminum doors
The two door systems a commercial building buys most, and they solve different problems. Hollow metal is strength: a steel slab in a welded steel frame, rated where it needs to be, indifferent to abuse. Glass and aluminum is presence: daylight, visibility and a storefront a customer walks up to. Most buildings need both — the question is which opening gets which.
Fire-rated doors in Niagara Falls: the label is the system
A fire-rated door is not a heavier door — it is a listed assembly. Door, frame, hardware and any glazing are tested together, and the rating on the label only holds while all of them match it. That is why a rated opening is specified and installed as one thing, and why swapping a closer or cutting a lite into a rated door in the field is not a small change.
Planned maintenance instead of emergency calls
Most of the door failures we attend didn't start that week — a dragging closer, a fraying overhead-door cable, a slower operator. A preventative-maintenance plan puts a technician in front of every door on a schedule: hardware adjusted, springs and cables inspected, operators tested, rated doors checked to close and latch on their own. Facility managers use it to turn door repair from a dispatch problem into a line item — and the 24/7 line is still there for the failures that don't wait.
Doors for the work Niagara Falls buildings do
The sectors that dominate Niagara Falls — accommodation and food services, wholesale and retail trade, advanced and light manufacturing — each ask something different of their doors.
Accommodation and food services
Processing and clean environments call for double-acting traffic doors on busy corridors and sealed hollow metal doors that stand up to washdown and sanitation cycles.
Wholesale and retail trade
Storefront glass-aluminum entrances, same-day glass replacement and board-up after a break-in, and rolling security shutters or grilles for the hours the lights are off.
Advanced and light manufacturing
Plants take doors hard: hollow metal doors and frames for forklift and cart traffic, heavy-cycle overhead doors on shipping, and fire-rated doors on the separations between plant and office.
Logistics & warehousing
Shipping runs on dock levelers, dock seals and sectional or rolling steel overhead doors — and a bay door that won’t lift is a stopped truck, which is why these calls get 24/7 dispatch.
Offices & business parks
Glass-aluminum entrance systems, automatic operators for barrier-free access, and repairs scheduled around tenants — an entrance off its hinges is every visitor’s first impression.
Healthcare & clinics
Low-energy swing operators and universal washroom packages for barrier-free routes, plus fire-rated corridor doors — openings where accessibility and code both have a say.

Common questions about commercial doors
Can traffic doors be used on a cooler or freezer?
Only if they are made for it. A standard traffic door on a cold opening will sweat, ice up around the edges and eventually fail, because it is not insulated and its gasketing is not designed for the temperature difference. Cold-room openings need insulated panels, gasketing rated for the temperature, and often heaters in the frame. It is a different product at a different price, and substituting a standard door is a false economy that shows up within a winter.
What is an impact door, and how is it different?
An impact door is a traffic door built for vehicle traffic rather than foot traffic — thicker panels, a much tougher facing material, reinforced edges and hardware sized to survive being struck by a pallet jack or a forklift rather than a shoulder. In practice the terms overlap: every impact door is a traffic door, but a light kitchen traffic door will not survive a warehouse aisle. The distinction that matters when specifying is what hits the door, and how fast.
What size is a commercial door?
The most common commercial swing door is a 3′0″ × 7′0″ single leaf, with pairs made up to 8′0″ wide, and 8′0″-tall leaves used where equipment has to pass. Overhead, dock and rolling doors are sized to the opening rather than to a standard, so they are measured on site. If you are matching an existing door, send us a photo and the rough opening dimensions and we will confirm.
