Door systems across Oshawa
We work throughout Oshawa — Northwood Business Park, Durham Business Park, Colonel Sam Business Park, Farewell Industrial Area and the blocks around them. We also cover Bowmanville from here — same crews, same dispatch. The buildings here are mostly advanced manufacturing and automotive, healthcare and life sciences and post-secondary education and technology, and each puts different demands on a door: traffic volume, insurance and fire requirements, and how much downtime an opening can afford. Oshawa’s 175,383 residents keep those buildings busy.
We have completed 101 door jobs in Oshawa since 2020 — commercial doors, automatic doors, commercial glass and aluminum doors and hollow metal and steel doors — including work on King Street West, Harmony Road North, Simcoe Street South and Taunton Road East.

Oshawa is roughly a 70-minute run from our Mississauga shop — less if a technician is already in the area — so a truck is usually on site the same day.

Common questions about doors
How thick are traffic and impact doors?
Light kitchen and service doors are commonly in the ¾″ to 1″ range, and heavier industrial impact doors around 1½″ to 2″, with reinforcement at the edges and around the vision panel. Flexible PVC doors are a different product altogether — a curtain rather than a panel — and are measured in millimetres of vinyl thickness instead. The right figure follows from what hits the door, which is why we ask about traffic before quoting.
How much does it cost to make a door automatic?
Adding a low-energy operator to a door that already hangs properly is the least expensive route into automation. The operator itself is rarely the biggest number — the variables are whether there is power at the head of the opening, how many activation points you want, whether the door is electrically locked, and whether the leaf needs work first. Running a new circuit to a header in an existing masonry wall can exceed the cost of the operator, so we quote the whole opening rather than the equipment.
Do you repair existing sliding glass doors, or only install new ones?
Both. We repair commercial sliding doors whoever installed them — rollers and carriers, tracks, guides, locks, weatherstrip, broken glass, and the operator, sensors and activation on automatic units. Emergency service runs 24/7, so a door stuck open overnight gets made secure now and permanently fixed on schedule.
When is a stainless steel door worth the money?
When the room is cleaned aggressively, when what is in the air is corrosive, or when the opening has to be sanitary. Food and beverage production, pharmaceutical and lab space, commercial kitchens, pool and chemical rooms, and washdown areas all destroy paint on a schedule — every wash cycle takes a little more, rust starts at the first scratch, and the door is repainted or replaced years before it should be. In a dry corridor, stainless is money spent on appearance rather than performance.
How much does it cost to have a window boarded up?
It is priced on labour, materials and the hour, and it varies mostly with the size of the opening and how much broken glass has to be cleared. A single door leaf is a much smaller job than a full shopfront bay above a public sidewalk. We give you the number on the phone before dispatching, so the decision is made before a crew is on the road, and it is invoiced separately from the glazing so your insurer can see both.
What are the most common loading dock repairs?
Five account for most call-outs. A leveler that will not raise or hold — usually weakened springs on a mechanical unit or a hydraulic fault. A lip that will not extend or return, generally bent or seized from being driven over out of position. A shredded seal or head curtain. Bumpers worn through or torn off. And the door above the dock, which fails more often than everything else combined because it is the part that moves most.
Four decades of doors for names Ontario knows — Canada’s Wonderland, Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire, the LCBO, Metrolinx, Marriott & Hilton hotels, the University of Toronto — plus thousands of businesses across the GTA. Dependable people, quality products, since 1979.
