Broken garage door repair in Oshawa: we dispatch 24/7.
Oshawa is roughly a 70-minute run from our Mississauga shop — less if a technician is already in the area — so a truck is usually on site the same day.
Emergency board-up, security and make-safe first — permanent repair scheduled after.
Three jobs wear the name "garage door repair" in Oshawa, and only one is urgent
Almost every call we take in Oshawa is one of three separate jobs on the same door, and which one it is decides whether it can wait until morning, what the visit costs, and whether you should be touching it at all. The counterbalance carries the weight. The running gear lets the door travel. The opener only pushes.
Which of the three you have, without tools
Two can be told apart from the doorway. What kind of spring the door carries is worth knowing at the same time, because it changes the job.

What rides on the truck, and what a first visit in Oshawa fixes
The common residential torsion sizes, cables, drums, rollers, hinges, seals and the LiftMaster line we fit most all travel with the crew.
Repair or replace an Oshawa door, and the arithmetic behind it
Everything mechanical on a door is replaceable, so the question is never whether the part can be fixed. It is whether the door behind it is worth the parts.

Winter in Oshawa, and what it does to a door
Four things happen to a garage door through an Oshawa winter, and three of them are avoidable.
Three questions worth asking any garage door company in Oshawa
The spread of prices in this trade is usually in what the quote leaves out. These three close it, and they work on us as well as on anybody else.
Broken garage door in Oshawa: we come to you
If the door is stuck open, hanging crooked, or you heard a bang and it will not lift, call 800-522-6825 rather than filling this in — the line is answered 24 hours and that one does not wait. For a noisy door, a worn opener, a perished seal, or a price to replace the door, tell us what it is doing, roughly how old it is and whereabouts in Oshawa you are. A photo taken from inside the garage is worth more than any description.
Common questions about garage door repair
Do you repair garage door openers?
No. When an opener has failed we replace it, and that is a deliberate position rather than a limitation. A logic board, a gear kit or a motor on a residential opener costs a large fraction of a new unit, it goes into a machine whose remaining parts are the same age, and nothing about the rest of it is any newer afterwards. A new opener is warrantied as a whole and is usually fitted the same visit. Where the fault is the door — a broken spring, a cable off its drum, rollers or track — that is a repair, we do it, and it is on our garage door repair page.
Belt, chain or jackshaft — which should I choose?
Chain if the garage is detached or nobody sleeps above it, and the budget matters. Belt if there is a bedroom over the garage or the garage is part of the house, because the difference in noise is not subtle. Jackshaft if there is no headroom for a rail, if you want the ceiling clear, or if the door is tall — it mounts on the wall beside the shaft and turns the shaft directly. A jackshaft costs more and needs a properly sprung door and solid mounting, but on the right garage it is the tidiest installation there is.
Can you install a new garage door opener yourself?
Mechanically, plenty of people do — the rail, the head and the wiring are within reach of a competent DIYer with a helper and a day. Two things catch people out. The first is that an opener is sized and set to the door: the wrong horsepower or wrongly set travel and force will run for months and then destroy something. The second is more important — the opener does not lift the door, the springs do, and if the door is not properly balanced first, a new opener is being asked to do work it was never rated for. If you fit one yourself, check the balance before you connect it: a correctly sprung door stays where you leave it at waist height.
