Residential
Door systems across Newmarket
We work throughout Newmarket — Newmarket Industrial Park, 404 Employment Area, Mulock Employment Area, Yonge Street Corridor and the blocks around them. The buildings here are mostly health sciences and healthcare, public sector administration and light manufacturing, and each puts different demands on a door: traffic volume, insurance and fire requirements, and how much downtime an opening can afford. Newmarket’s 87,942 residents keep those buildings busy.
We have completed 56 door jobs in Newmarket since 2020 — automatic doors, commercial doors, hollow metal and steel doors and loading docks — including work on Davis Drive, Crossland Gate and Yonge Street.

Broken doors in Newmarket: we dispatch 24/7.
Newmarket is roughly a 55-minute run from our Mississauga shop — less if a technician is already in the area — so a truck is usually on site the same day.
Emergency board-up, security and make-safe first — permanent repair scheduled after.
Common questions about doors
How long do automatic sliding doors take to install?
Typically 4–6 weeks to produce the door once shop drawings are approved, then 1–2 weeks to schedule the job and install it — about 5–8 weeks in total, depending on the size of the project. Sliders sit at the longer end of that range because the operator, the framing and the tempered glass all have to land together, and a missing lite holds the whole entrance. The install itself is usually a day or two per opening, and it is routinely scheduled overnight so the entrance is working when the building opens.
Can traffic doors be used on a cooler or freezer?
Only if they are made for it. A standard traffic door on a cold opening will sweat, ice up around the edges and eventually fail, because it is not insulated and its gasketing is not designed for the temperature difference. Cold-room openings need insulated panels, gasketing rated for the temperature, and often heaters in the frame. It is a different product at a different price, and substituting a standard door is a false economy that shows up within a winter.
How long does it take to get stainless steel doors?
Typically 4–6 weeks to produce a stainless door and frame once the shop drawings are approved, then 1–2 weeks to schedule the job and install it, depending on the size of the project. Stainless is a made-to-order product in almost every case — grade, finish, gauge, core and hardware prep are all specified per opening, and there is no stock equivalent to pull from. Once delivered, one stainless door and frame is usually a day's work on site.
How much should a dock bumper project from the wall?
Far enough that the trailer stops before it reaches anything behind it — which means the bumper must stand proud of the compressed depth of your dock seal, not its relaxed depth. Four inches of projection is a common minimum on a plain dock face, and more is needed where a seal or shelter is fitted or where the dock face is set back. This is the single most common error we find: correctly sized bumpers that do not project far enough, because the seal in front of them was never accounted for.
What type of glass do storefronts use?
Exterior storefront bays are glazed with a 1″ sealed insulating unit — two lites around an argon or air cavity — with a low-E coating on one surface, and the glass is tempered where it is in or beside a door, which the Ontario Building Code treats as a safety-glazing location. Interior storefront and partition glazing is usually monolithic 6 mm tempered. Where a bay has been broken more than once, laminated glass is the upgrade worth pricing.
What can I use to temporarily fix a broken window?
Tape holds fragments together for photographs and nothing else — it does not make an opening secure or weathertight, and it leaves loose glass in a frame above a pavement. The real answer is a board-up: the remaining glass is cleared out, and plywood is cut and fixed into the frame so the building locks tonight. Ours is done with the glazing stops so the frame is not damaged, and the plywood comes out the day the new unit goes in.
Four decades of doors for names Ontario knows — Canada’s Wonderland, Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire, the LCBO, Metrolinx, Marriott & Hilton hotels, the University of Toronto — plus thousands of businesses across the GTA. Dependable people, quality products, since 1979.
