Security Shutters & Grilles across Uxbridge
We work throughout Uxbridge — Anderson Boulevard Industrial Area, Reach Street Industrial Corridor, Highway 47 Industrial Zone, Toronto Street South Corridor and the blocks around them. The buildings here are mostly advanced manufacturing, specialized packaging and food processing, and each puts different demands on a door: traffic volume, insurance and fire requirements, and how much downtime an opening can afford. Uxbridge’s 21,556 residents keep those buildings busy.

Broken shutter, grille or gate in Uxbridge: we dispatch 24/7.
Uxbridge is roughly a 65-minute run from our Mississauga shop — less if a technician is already in the area — so a truck is usually on site the same day.
Emergency board-up, security and make-safe first — permanent repair scheduled after.
Which closure fits the opening
We specify to the opening rather than to one catalogue, and we service any make. Most of what goes on an Uxbridge building comes from three manufacturers — Pentagon, MobilFlex and Emart — and the opening usually decides which one before the budget does.
Pentagon security shutters — storefronts, counters and houses
Pentagon build rolling security shutters in three lines, and between them they cover a shop front, a counter and a house window. We supply, install and service all three in Uxbridge, and we carry the parts that fail first.

MobilFlex rolling and side-folding closures
MobilFlex, from Québec, build the closures on mall units, bank lobbies, airport shops and school serveries — the ones that must lock a space in Uxbridge and still let people see into it. They come two ways: rolling up into a coil, or folding sideways into a stack at the jamb, and which one suits an opening in Uxbridge is usually decided by the headroom above it.

Emart expandable security gates
An expandable, or scissor, gate is the simplest closure there is: a steel lattice that pulls across the opening and folds back to a narrow stack at the side. Emart Factory, a Toronto supplier on Magnetic Drive, sell them for storefronts, pharmacies, warehouses and homes, and we measure, fit and repair them in Uxbridge — most often on a back door or a unit in Uxbridge with no room for a coil.

Inside the glass, outside it, or not allowed at all in Uxbridge
Three positions are possible and they are not equally available. What an Uxbridge tenant may fit is often settled by somebody else before price is discussed at all.
Security shutters on houses and cottages in Uxbridge
Houses are a real part of this work: basement and ground-floor windows, a cottage closed for the winter, a garage, a sliding patio door. Two products do most of it.

A shutter slows a break-in down; it does not stop one
No grille, gate or shutter makes a building in Uxbridge impossible to get into. What it does is turn a ten-second smash-and-grab into a noisy job with tools — and that time is only worth something if the rest of the building uses it. Treat the closure as one layer of a security plan for the Uxbridge property, not the plan itself.
What a shutter or grille costs in Uxbridge, and what moves the number
Everything here is built to a measured opening, so there is no list price to quote. Three things move a number more than width does.
After hours, when it will not go up — on any make
A shutter jammed down is a business in Uxbridge that cannot open, and one jammed up is a business that cannot close. We repair Pentagon, MobilFlex and Emart closures and most other makes in Uxbridge, whoever installed them.

Shutters and grilles for the work Uxbridge buildings do
The sectors that dominate Uxbridge — advanced manufacturing, specialized packaging, food processing — each have something different to shut away, and a different hour to do it in.
Advanced manufacturing
A plant closes fewer openings than it protects: the tool crib, the maintenance store, the office window onto the shop floor. A shutter over a service counter goes up at shift change and down at the end of it — which means the operation matters more than the specification, and a crank in an awkward corner gets left open.
Food processing
Anywhere a shutter meets a wash-down or a controlled area the finish is the whole question — mill finish aluminum, powder coat, or stainless where it is hosed. Counter shutters over serveries and dispensaries close the opening without closing the room, and the guides have to be cleanable rather than merely cleaned.
Retail
This is the trade’s home ground. A solid slat curtain outside the glass stops the glass being broken at all; a folding grille behind it keeps the window shopping while the unit is shut. Which you can have is often the landlord’s call, not yours — a mall fit-out manual usually names the closure and sometimes the finish.
Healthcare
Pharmacy windows, records rooms, cash and specimen hatches. The closure is usually small, always locked, and inspected as part of the department rather than the building — and on an exit route it has to be openable from inside without a key, which rules some hardware out before price does.
Offices & business parks
Reception hatches, mail rooms, server and comms cupboards, the coffee bar that shuts at three. Small openings, and the ones people actually operate every day — so a counter shutter with a decent lift and a proper lock beats a big shutter specified for a door somebody props open instead.
Schools & institutions
Canteens, tuck shops, gyms and libraries inside a building that stays open around them. A folding grille across a corridor closes a wing after hours and stacks flat against a jamb in the morning; a counter shutter closes the servery without closing the hall. Exit routes govern both.

Common questions about security shutters & grilles
How long does a security shutter take to supply and install?
Typically 4–6 weeks to produce once the opening is measured and the finish is confirmed, then 1–2 weeks to schedule and install — around 5–8 weeks in total, depending on the size of the project. Every one of these is made to the opening, so nothing is off a shelf. Repairs are a different clock: common slats, guides, motors and locks are stocked, and most faults are put right in a single visit. The installation of a single shutter is usually a day, done outside trading hours where it has to be.
What goes wrong with them?
Almost always the guides and the bottom bar, not the curtain. Something catches the bottom bar, or the shutter is forced when its lock is still engaged, and the slats come out of the guide. After that: motors and limit switches on powered units, springs and barrels on manual ones, and slats damaged by an impact. Grit and salt in the guides is the winter version of the same problem. Most of it is repairable in place, and slats can be replaced individually rather than replacing a whole curtain.
Do I need a fire-rated shutter?
Only if the opening is in a fire-rated wall or separation — and then it is a legal requirement rather than a choice. A fire shutter is a different, labelled product that closes automatically on alarm and has to be drop- tested to prove it still does. A security shutter in the same opening does not satisfy the code. We build both, and the fire-rated ones live on their own page with the inspection they require.
