Stoney Creek is roughly a 45-minute run from our Mississauga shop — less if a technician is already in the area — so a truck is usually on site the same day.
Emergency board-up, security and make-safe first — permanent repair scheduled after.
Glass and aluminum door systems we install in Stoney Creek
Most commercial glass work is one of three aluminum framing systems, and the door is chosen to suit the frame it sits in. Canuck Door Systems supplies, installs and services all of them — here is how they differ, in the order the questions usually come.
Storefront, window and curtain wall framing: the difference
Three frame families glaze most commercial elevations, and they are not interchangeable — each one carries the glass differently, spans differently and is glazed from a different side. Which one an opening needs is usually decided by the building, not by preference.

Glass & aluminum for the work Stoney Creek buildings do
The sectors that dominate Stoney Creek — advanced manufacturing, logistics and distribution, food and beverage processing — each ask something different of their glass and aluminum.
Advanced manufacturing
Plant offices put glass where supervision needs sightlines — entrance doors with vision lites, glazed office fronts facing the floor — in aluminum framing that shrugs off an industrial interior.
Logistics and distribution
A distribution building’s glass is its front office: an aluminum entrance for visitors and drivers, interior lites for the dispatch office, and same-day board-up and replacement when either gets broken.
Food and beverage processing
Entrances and glazing for the office side of processing plants — and fast board-up and replacement, because a broken lite in a food or pharma building cannot wait for next week.
Commercial retail
The storefront is the shop: aluminum-framed entrances and display glazing, same-day board-up after a break-in, and replacement glass measured and set without closing the store for long.
Offices & business parks
Entrance systems, vestibules and interior glass doors that carry a lobby’s finish — and sealed-unit replacement when a fogged lite starts telling tenants the building is tired.
Healthcare & clinics
Clinic and practice entrances in aluminum framing — barrier-free widths, closers patients can manage — plus fast glass replacement, because a taped-up door in a waiting room reads badly.

Common questions about commercial glass & aluminum doors
What is the standard size of a commercial glass door?
The common commercial single leaf is 3′0″ × 7′0″, with pairs made up to 8′0″ wide, and 8′0″-tall leaves where equipment has to pass. Aluminum entrance leaves are 1¾″ thick as standard. Sliding, folding and curtain-wall openings are not standard at all — they are sized to the opening and measured on site.
What is the difference between a storefront, a window wall and a curtain wall?
How far the system spans, and what carries it. A storefront sits inside one storey, anchored into the opening — the ground-floor glazing on a shop or office. A window wall spans slab to slab, one storey at a time, and bears on the floor slab. A curtain wall runs continuously past the slab edges over multiple floors and is hung off the building structure. The framing gets deeper and the anchoring more engineered in that order, which is why the same-looking elevation can be three different products with three different prices.
Can a commercial glass or aluminum entrance be fire-rated?
A standard aluminum entrance cannot carry a fire label — aluminum softens well below the temperature a rated assembly has to survive. Where an opening needs a rating we put a labelled hollow-metal or rated wood assembly in it instead, with rated vision glazing if the opening still has to be seen through. Tell us the rating the drawings call for and we will specify to it rather than glaze around it.
