Condo Wood Door Replacement in North York: 123 Stained Suite Doors for Sedona Place
Every one of the 123 wood doors at the Sedona Place condominium in North York removed and replaced with new stained Baillargeon doors and hardware, each made to its own opening, in two phases from February 2022 to January 2023, plus new 3-hour fire-rated metal doors for the hydro rooms.

Sedona Place is a condominium building in North York, and it replaced all 123 of its wood doors. Canuck removed and hauled away the old doors and supplied and installed new stained wood doors from Baillargeon, with all new hardware. We also replaced the building's hydro room doors with metal doors and frames carrying a 3-hour fire rating.
The doors came in two phases. The first, 47 doors, was ordered in February 2022 and completed in October 2022. The second, 76 doors, was ordered in April 2022 and completed in January 2023.

Choosing the doors
Canuck worked with the management office to present wood species and stain colours to the board, so the building could choose the finish every resident would live with. The doors are stained wood, fitted with new levers and deadbolts.
123 doors, 123 sizes
Every door was different. Each had its own size, its own hinge positions, and its own deadbolt and lockset locations, so each was measured and made individually.
No two door openings in the building were quite alike, and the hardware on each door sits where the original one did. So every door was measured in its own suite, and made to that opening: size, hinges, deadbolt and lockset positions.
That is the main reason the job took as long as it did. Every door meant a site visit to measure, arranged with the owner, then production, then a second visit to install, arranged with the owner again.
Two floors a day, exits kept clear
The installs were organised two floors at a time. We coordinated with every suite owner on those floors so that both floors were finished in a day, while owners kept access to their suites and the means of egress stayed clear.
Storage was the other limit. There was little room on site for doors, so the crew brought only two or three doors to each level at a time, which kept the exits free.
