Canuck Door System Co. was contracted for 123 Wooden Doors Replacement for the Sedona Place condominium building. The project involved removing and disposing of old wooden doors, followed by the supply and installation of new custom-stained wooden doors with updated hardware.
The main challenge was coordinating closely with the condo residents across two floors. The goal was to replace all doors without disrupting access or blocking emergency egress points, a critical factor in ensuring resident safety during the project. Additionally, limited on-site storage meant that only two or three doors could simultaneously be brought to each level, requiring meticulous planning and coordination.
Canuck Door Systems adopted a phased approach to ensure smooth execution. The project was divided into two main phases to accommodate delivery schedules and resident coordination:
- Phase 1: 47 doors replaced by October 2022.
- Phase 2: 76 doors replaced by January 2023.
Given the various door sizes and hardware placements, each door was custom-made, with careful attention paid to hinge locations, locksets, and deadbolt fittings. Canuck Door System Co. worked closely with the building’s management to present different wood species and stain finishes, ensuring the final product met the board’s aesthetic preferences.
We supply and install all the wooden doors produced by the Baillargeon for the condo building.
By January 2023, Canuck Door System Co. successfully replaced all 123 wooden doors, meeting both aesthetic and functional expectations. The new doors enhanced the building’s appearance and improved security and durability with updated hardware. The phased execution minimized disruptions for residents, and Canuck ensured that all work adhered to fire safety standards.
Additionally, Canuck Door System Co. replaced the hydro doors, which were metal and fire-rated for 3 hours, further enhancing safety measures within the building.
