Door systems across Orillia
We work throughout Orillia — Horne Business Park, Forest Home Industrial Park, West Ridge Commercial Corridor, Memorial Avenue Corridor and the blocks around them. The buildings here are mostly public institutional administration, healthcare and regional service and retail, and each puts different demands on a door: traffic volume, insurance and fire requirements, and how much downtime an opening can afford. Orillia’s 33,411 residents keep those buildings busy.
We have completed 13 door jobs in Orillia since 2021 — automatic doors, commercial glass and aluminum doors, loading docks and fire-rated doors — including work on Brodie Drive.

Broken doors in Orillia: we dispatch 24/7.
Orillia is roughly a 105-minute run from our Mississauga shop — less if a technician is already in the area. Planned work, measures and maintenance travel there without difficulty; on a middle-of-the-night emergency we will tell you the drive time on the phone, and what to do to make the opening safe until we arrive.
Emergency board-up, security and make-safe first — permanent repair scheduled after.
Common questions about doors
How much does a handicap door operator cost?
The operator is usually the smaller half of the job. What decides the price is whether there is power at the head of the opening, how many activation points you want and where they go, whether the door is locked, and whether the door itself needs work before it can be automated. Running a circuit to a header in an existing masonry wall can cost more than the operator. We quote the whole opening — operator, activation, electrical and any door repairs — rather than the box alone, because that is the number you actually have to budget.
Do you repair doors your company didn’t install?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We repair commercial glass and aluminum doors whoever supplied them, including doors from companies no longer in business. We carry common closers, pivots, patch fittings, rollers, locks, weatherstrip and thresholds on the trucks, so many calls are fixed on the first visit rather than after a parts order.
Our seal keeps failing. Is it a bad product?
Usually not. In our experience the most common cause of a repeatedly failing seal is worn bumpers: once the trailer can come far enough forward it crushes the seal frame rather than compressing the pads, and the replacement fails exactly like its predecessor. The other frequent causes are angled trailer approaches and missing wear pleats. Any of those will defeat a perfectly good seal, which is why we look at the bumpers before quoting another one.
What gets checked on a fire door inspection?
Labels on the door and frame and whether they are legible, clearances at the head, jambs and sill, whether the door closes from any position and latches positively, the closer and any hold-open device, hinges and fasteners, glazing and lite kits, gasketing and seals, the condition of the leaf and frame, and any field modification such as a drilled hole or an added kick plate. Rolling assemblies get a drop test rather than a visual check.
What is the difference between a shutter, a grille and a gate?
A shutter is a solid or perforated curtain of interlocking slats that rolls up into a coil above the opening — it closes the opening completely. A grille is the same idea built from links or rods you can see through, so a window display stays visible after hours. A folding gate does not roll at all: it slides sideways along a track and stacks like a concertina, which is the answer when there is no headroom for a coil. All three secure an opening; the choice is usually made by headroom and by whether you want to be seen into.
How long do traffic doors take to arrive?
Plan on roughly 4–6 weeks for manufacture once sizes are confirmed, then 1–2 weeks to schedule installation — about 5–8 weeks in total, since panels are made to your opening. Replacement parts are much quicker: hinge cassettes, gaskets, vision-panel glazing and bumper strips are the items that wear, and keeping a small stock of them on site is worth doing if you run a lot of these doors. Fitting the doors at one opening is usually done in a day, often overnight or between shifts.
Four decades of doors for names Ontario knows — Canada’s Wonderland, Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire, the LCBO, Metrolinx, Marriott & Hilton hotels, the University of Toronto — plus thousands of businesses across the GTA. Dependable people, quality products, since 1979.
