Broken patio door in Burlington: we dispatch 24/7.
Burlington is roughly a 35-minute run from our Mississauga shop — less if a technician is already in the area — so a truck is usually on site the same day.
Emergency board-up, security and make-safe first — permanent repair scheduled after.
Broken patio door glass in Burlington
A cracked or shattered pane is the patio door call we get most. The frame, rollers and lock are usually fine, so only the glass unit is replaced — in the door you already have.
Made safe first
After a break-in we come out overnight — to Aldershot, Roseland or anywhere else in Burlington — clear the glass and board up the opening so the house can be locked. A crack that still holds waits for a daytime visit.Measured for a new unit
Patio door glass is tempered, usually a double-glazed sealed unit. The new one is made to your panel's size, with Low-E and gas fill if the original had them.Fitted into your existing panel
One visit to measure, one to fit. With the panel out, we check the rollers and weatherstrip too.Don't slide a cracked panel: tempered glass can break all at once. Keep it closed and call us.
Aluminum or vinyl — what the frame changes about a patio door repair in Burlington
Most sliding patio doors in Burlington houses have either an aluminum frame or a vinyl one. The parts that wear out are the same kind of part on both. The frame decides how those parts are adjusted, which of them wear out first, and at what point the door is no longer worth repairing.
Fix a dragging or sticking patio door in Burlington
After a break-in, or if the door will not lock or the glass is broken, call 800-522-6825 — the line is answered 24 hours and we come out overnight to board it up. For a door that drags, grinds, jumps the track, drafts or has fogged between the panes, tell us what it is doing, whether the frame is aluminum or vinyl, and whereabouts in Burlington you are. A photo of the bottom corner of the sliding panel helps us bring the right rollers.
Common questions about patio door repair
Do you repair patio screen doors?
No. We work on the patio door itself: its rollers, track, lock, handle, weatherstrip and glass. Re-screening and screen-door repairs are a separate trade, and a screen specialist will serve you better for those.
How much does it cost to fix a patio door?
It depends on which part has failed. Weatherstrip, a lock adjustment and a track cleaning are at the inexpensive end. New rollers cost more, because the panel has to be lifted out to fit them. A replacement sealed glass unit costs the most, because it is made to the size of your glass. We quote the cost of the visit on the phone and the repair once the door has been seen. If the repair would cost a large part of the price of a new door, we tell you that as well.
My patio door will not lock. Is that urgent?
If the house cannot be secured, yes. Call us, because a door that will not lock is an open door, and after a break-in we come out overnight to board it up. Often the cause is a keeper on the frame that has moved out of line, and a technician can adjust it in minutes. Sometimes it is a panel that has dropped, so the latch no longer reaches the keeper. Otherwise the lock mechanism itself has worn out and is replaced. In the meantime, a bar or a length of dowel laid in the track stops the panel from sliding.
