Lazy Bear Lodge, a one-of-a-kind dining destination nestled in Canada’s Wonderland amusement park in Vaughan, Ontario, is a sight to behold. With its rustic charm and breathtaking views, the lodge was conceived as a harmonious blend of nature and culinary delight, offering guests a truly unforgettable experience. The primary goal of the Lazy Bear Lodge project was to elevate the guest experience at Canada’s Wonderland.
The Lazy Bear Lodge project to install storefront aluminum doors and windows, awarded to Canuck Door Systems in February 2022, demonstrated the company’s capability to manage large-scale, intricate installations while prioritizing safety and quality. Despite supply chain disruptions caused by the summer construction peak and post-COVID challenges, Canuck effectively adjusted schedules and resources to meet the project deadline, reaching substantial completion by August 2022.
Canuck’s approach involved meticulous planning from the outset. The two-month pre-production phase ensured every detail was addressed, allowing for smooth coordination between the two specialized teams working on exterior and interior installations. Regular site inspections, strict safety protocols, and part replacements were handled with care to maintain a safe working environment for both the installation team and the amusement park’s staff and visitors.
The heart of the installation featured high-quality bi-folding doors and aluminum framing systems, balancing modern design with the rustic charm of the lodge. Canuck specified and installed the Bifold 1781 Series from Commdoor Aluminum for the main entrance. This system, along with the 2500 Series framing and 175 Series swing doors, offered both aesthetic appeal and durability, seamlessly integrating into the lodge’s surroundings.
Additionally, Canuck Door Systems sourced and installed LS Series metal doors from All Steel Doors Ltd., as well as Aspiro Series wood doors from Harring by Masonite. Eliason’s P11 Series traffic doors were installed for high-traffic kitchen and service areas, chosen for their robustness and ability to handle heavy use without compromising functionality.
Throughout the project, Canuck Door Systems maintained a strong focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction. Covering Division 08, the installation met both aesthetic and functional requirements, all while adhering to budget constraints. The result was a durable, visually appealing solution that enhances the guest experience at Lazy Bear Lodge and serves as a testament to Canuck’s expertise in safety-conscious, high-quality installations.
