Our recent project at the new Toys “R” Us Project is a perfect example of our dedication to quality and efficiency. This featured project involved the supply and installation of steel doors and frames, as well as traffic doors with stainless steel frames, and additional specialty hardware solutions—all designed to enhance security, accessibility, and durability.
In collaboration with ZGMEI INC., the general contractor on the job, we were tasked with supplying and installing: steel doors and frames, double traffic doors with stainless steel frames for high-traffic openings, an automatic door operator with universal washroom kit, louvers, tempered glass, and complete door hardware.
This project, located in Ontario, commenced in late July 2023 and was completed by October 2023, necessitating multiple site visits to coordinate delivery and installation timelines.
The primary objective was to provide the steel frames quickly so that rough openings could be completed without delay. In fact, due to painting requirements, it was necessary to install the hollow metal doors and frames before the louvers, glazing, and hardware. Consequently, our team scheduled several return visits to ensure seamless execution across all phases.
Moreover, the installation of traffic doors with stainless steel frames was essential for maintaining durability in high-use areas, especially where robust performance and cleanability were critical.
Although we managed to meet the one-week delivery requirement for steel frames, several challenges impacted the timeline:
- Design changes to the impact doors caused delays in approval and production
- The client did not approve the initially quoted door operator, so we subcontracted the installation.
- The need to sequence painting, louver installation, and hardware fitting resulted in multiple staged visits.
Despite these hurdles, we remained proactive and adaptive, working closely with suppliers to minimize delays and maintain quality.

Ultimately, the installation was completed successfully by October 2023. Although the project experienced a few minor delays, our team’s commitment to coordination and problem-solving ensured that the final result met all expectations.
