Canuck Door Systems completed a Metal Doors Replacement project in Toronto for King West Village North, focusing on replacing a total of 17 double hollow metal doors and frames. The old doors, located in various electrical rooms throughout the complex, were removed and properly disposed of. New metal doors and frames, complete with hardware, were then supplied and professionally installed.
The primary objective was to ensure the proper installation and complete each door opening within the same day. Since these were exterior electrical room doors, they needed to be secured and lockable by the end of each workday to maintain site security and meet safety regulations.
Executing this project in downtown Toronto presented its share of logistical challenges. The biggest challenge was limited parking access, particularly near the door openings. Our team had to be extremely mindful not to obstruct public sidewalks or city streets, as some of the doors faced directly onto the road. Strategic planning and timing were crucial in minimizing disruptions while ensuring compliance with municipal bylaws.
Canuck Door Systems removed and disposed of the existing double doors. We supplied and installed 17 double hollow metal doors with steel frames, incorporating new commercial-grade door hardware. We coordinated with All Steel Doors Ltd. to ensure the punctual delivery of the product. Our team will complete daily installations to maintain site security overnight.
The project was awarded in late March 2024, and door production commenced immediately. Installation began in mid-May 2024 and was completed by the end of May 2024. Canuck Door Systems worked closely with the manufacturer to ensure timely delivery and seamless execution within the planned schedule.
