Project Overview

Canuck Door Systems completed a supply and installation project at 51 Centennial Road in Orangeville, Ontario, featuring automatic sliding doors and black anodized aluminum curtain wall systems. Working alongside Canadian Millwork & Contracting, our team provided modern and functional upgrades to the building’s entrances and windows.

The project involved installing Windspec 5500 Series black anodized aluminum curtain wall systems and Ditec DS20 bi-parting and telescopic sliding doors, creating a sleek, energy-efficient, and accessible façade. These new systems replaced outdated clear anodized windows and manual swing doors, giving the property a contemporary and high-performance exterior.

Project Goals

The main objective of this project was to enhance both aesthetic appeal and functionality by:

• Replacing old clear anodized systems with new black anodized curtain wall windows and automatic doors.
• Improving energy efficiency and accessibility for daily use.
• Creating new openings as required to meet the updated design and layout specifications.

Challenges and Constraints

The installation presented several challenges related to site preparation and coordination:

• Incorrectly sized openings were created by the general contractor, resulting in significant delays during the installation process.
• Our team had to proceed with partial installations before structural supports were ready, followed by multiple return visits to finalize the work once the openings were corrected.
• Additional adjustments were needed during glass installation, but our technicians developed an effective on-site solution to ensure quality and safety compliance.

Despite these challenges, the Canuck Door Systems team consistently maintained project quality, effective communication, and high customer satisfaction throughout.
